Several Alternative Ways Of Building Inbound Links For A Site
Article Writing
In my opinion the best way to get links is through article writing. They may not always give the best optimisation, but choose carefully where you publish your articles to and you will also see genuine people clicking on the links in your articles and visiting your site. A double bonus.
To get going, start writing article round your products. Probably information round its uses, FAQ lists, how to guides or what ever you can manage. If you are stuck for hints just have a look through article sites and see what other people are writing about. Use these as inspiration although, don’t copy the articles and do not try to merely rewrite them!
The minimum word count will depend on where you are submitting the articles to, so just check this information before you begin. Usually you will be entitled to 2 links back to your website. Merely be certain that at least 1 of these links is using your favourite keyword terms and eventually that will help your website.
How often should you write? Well, that is up to you and depends on how much time you have spare. The more the better really, and at least a couple of times per week I would say to see the best results. Don’t look for results until 2 weeks after they are first published, but then you should get a pleasant surprise.
Reciprocal Links Directories
Reciprocal links directories are dead. Forget them! They take too long to maintain and too much effort to find new links partners. In the time it takes you to find 1 poor quality link you might have published an article and got dozens of quality links.
Website Commenting
Site commenting is also impending, but again it takes a load of time and effort to find sites that “follow” the links. However, when you do find some then they might provide quality links. As with the article directories, links in blog comments might not only provide “links juice”, but also readers may follow them.
The problem is that if too lots of people are commenting on the same weblog post then your comment gets lost in a long collection and loses its value.
Guest Blogging
Why not go a step further and instead of posting comments, provide posts for the bloggers to include? Plenty of are happy to do this for free. You provide the content and they provide traffic through the link and the search engine favour. Very similar to article writing, you normally only completely write from scratch a new article of your own.
Social Networking
Whilst links from social networks might be amazing for traffic, most are now ignored by search engines and if it is just SEO that you are interested in, they provide nothing for you.
