The best two tools you have for SEO remain the same as they have been for a long time now.

Google Panda and Latent Semantic Indexing notwithstanding, these two tools have been and will be your most useful way to get and to keep the search engine rankings and therefore the targeted traffic that all website owners are looking for.

And the fact is, you probably already know them:

  • WordPress – The WordPress blogging platform and the multitude of plugins that are available to you for free make your SEO tasks not just easy, but automated as well.  From the All-In-One SEO plugin to the automatic pinging feature, if your site is set up on this platform your work is way better than half done.
  • Unique Content - If you post your own unique content even just a couple of times a week with even just the most basic of keyword research, then you can rest assured that your site will do progressively better week after week.  Yes, you will still have to deal with the Google Dance driving your site up and down at times but overall posting your own unique articles will carry the day.

As I said above, what works isn't anything you haven't heard before.  And what worked before, still works now.  Oh sure there a constantly new tools and tricks being taught and sold and some even work…
